My name is Ryan and I am a student at Nagel middle school in Cincinnati,Ohio. I am doing a project on the high price of education and I was hoping that you could answer my questions at the bottom of this letter. Thank you for your time and I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me.
1. How do most students pay for college? It is their own money? Scholarships? loans? or grants?
2.Describe the events that might occur if Ohio State were to lower tuition costs?
3.Is their programs where people with less money could still go to school and still be able to pay off their college debt?
4.How long would it take to pay off a average students college debt? Thanks for contacting Ohio State! Students pay for college in many different ways. Some use their own money, but many students take out a student loan or get a scholarship. Ohio State offers several merit-based scholarships as well as special scholarships that students can apply for. Ohio State does offer programs to help. Students can still go to school and get involved with work-study jobs where the money they earn is used to pay for tuition. Students are also highly encouraged to fill out the FAFSA, which will determine how much assistance they receive from the University or the government. And it could take different students a different amount of time to pay back their student debt. If you had to take out larger loans, it could take longer. Additionally, if a student has a job and is making more money than another student, he could pay off his debts faster.
